How does Teletherapy work?

Therapy sessions are conducted via video platform or phone. I use Doxy.me, which is a HIPPA compliant video platform. Because I am licensed in both California and Georgia, my services are available to residents in both states.

Where do I park?
We have free parking on the driveway along the side of the building, as well as in the parking deck in the back.

Beware, however, that the parking spaces with names on them are off limits. People get territorial about their parking spaces!

Are you closed for lunch?
No, I do offer lunchtime appointments.

Family/Couple session – 90 minutes
What’s your cancellation policy?
I require 48-hours’ notice. I keep a credit card on file and do charge for a full session for late cancellations and no-shows.
Do you take insurance?
No, I’m an out-of-network provider. I can provide you with a superbill that you can file with your insurance company for reimbursement.
How many years of practice do you have working with couples?

I have been working with couples, families and individuals for 35 years.

What kind of therapy do you do?
I’m trained in a few modalities of therapy and will use the best one(s) to help you with the issues which you bring to the session
How many sessions will it take for me to reach my goals?
How motivated are you to work through what’s keeping you stuck? We’ll move at your pace.
Do you offer online therapy?

Yes, I am board-certified to provide that, and have been offering that service for years! Video therapy works well, and you can get the help you need in the privacy of your home.

What kind of groups do you offer in your practice?
Healing Heartbreak Group – for those who have been traumatized by betrayal in their relationships

Sleep Wellness Group – an 8-week group using CBTI to promote sleep wellness

Do you give homework?
Yes, I most certainly do. It just helps establish your growth mindset in-between sessions.
What is the best way to get in touch with you?
I am very accessible. You can email, voice mail or text me, and I commit to responding to you within 24 hours.
Do I have to bring my own tissues?
Only if you want to. I have a whole stock of Kleenex tissues in my office. And, no, they are not scented, nor do they have moisturizers in them. Safe to wipe your glasses with.
Do I have to lie on the couch?
Some clients prefer to sit on the couch, others to lie down, or to sit on the floor. I’ll go with whatever you prefer.
Do you offer any snacks?
Water and mints. That’s about it. Feel free to bring lunch if we are meeting during your lunch hour.
Can I bring my dog?
Even though I would love for you to bring your dog (I’m a dog lover), the building management has banned dogs from the building. Go figure!
